Riley Snooker Cues from TopCue

Riley was originally a sports manufacturer with humble beginnings in 1890s Manchester. Originally a manufacturer of cricket bats, Riley diversified and became one of the most reputable suppliers of Billiard tables in the country. By the 1920s the brand was famous for tables, cues and accessories. In the snooker boom years of the 30s and 40s Riley was the most recognised brand in the game. However the brand suffered with the decline of the sport's appeal in the decades after world war two.

In the early 2000s Riley was acquired by BCE which quickly turned the fortunes around of the once ailing brand. By agreement with World Snooker to supply tables for all world ranking events the brand has been reestablished. The new contemporary brand is spearheaded alongside BCE with famous players such as Jimmy White and Ronnie O Sullivan. Riley's portfolio of endorsements include John Higgins, Paul Hunter and Steve Davis.

Snooker cues come in three main types. Below is a brief explanation of each to help you choose the right one:
  • 3/4 Split Cues - By far our most popular selling cues, these are jointed three quarters of the way down the shaft. This takes the joint away from the line of sight and also enables you to screw on a butt extension for extra reach.
  • 2 Piece Cues - These cues are jointed half way down the shaft so when unscrewed you have two equal pieces. As this produces two smaller sections it is easier to carry and store as the cases which fit them are a lot smaller, but you can't use a screw-in butt extension.
  • 1 Piece Cues - These cues are one complete length without any joints.
